On a long, aimless summer day, Jeremy and Auden find that their secret fort has been breached. Inside they discover a ragged young girl, holding a serrated kitchen knife. Rhonda Peach is a runaway, and as the two boys befriend her and spend more time with her, the stories she weaves—and the lies she tells—begin to shake their naive, fragile world. Then, when Auden and Rhonda go missing, Jeremy begins a search that quickly unravels into a surreal nightmare.
