After suffering psychological and physical abuse, which untouchable Carrie James blames on her father, she teams up with criminal wannabe Kevin (DJ) Cash against the cartel responsible for the death of her close childhood friend, Carlos. When Carrie, as Bee County’s first female deputy sheriff, finds her father leads the cartel, she accepts an undercover assignment with the ATF. Meanwhile Kevin infiltrates the produce company tasked by the county commissioner with smuggling sex workers across the border. He falls for a fellow probation officer with an appreciation for ska music and magic mushrooms. He’s simultaneously mesmerized by the dangerously disturbed daughter of the produce company’s owner.
