This book covers the basic principles of sentential logic, predicate logic, and modal logic. These principles, along with their philosophical underpinnings, are clearly explained and vividly illustrated. This text also includes a brief discussion of the set-theoretic basis of the relation of interpropositional necessitation. It also includes a proof that some truths are analytic, as well as a proof that, just as Kant alleged, we must be born with knowledge if observation is to avail us of knowledge. Finally, it includes rigorous but approachable discussions of cardinality, continuity, and incompleteness.
